What is Teamac Farm Oxide Protective Paint?

Teamac Farm Oxide Protective Paint is a durable, weather-resistant coating designed for metal and wood surfaces. It protects against rust and provides a long-lasting finish.

What surfaces can Teamac Farm Oxide Paint be used on?

This paint is suitable for metal and wood. It works well on structural steel, cladding and other exposed surfaces.

Does this paint protect against rust?

This product will protect against rust as long as the surface has been prepared correctly and primed accordingly.

Can I apply this paint on previously painted surfaces?

Yes, Teamac Farm Oxide Paint can be applied to previously painted surfaces. However, the surface should be clean, dry, and free from rust, oil, or loose paint for the best adhesion. Ensure the surface is fully abraded to provide a 'key'.

How should I prepare the surface before applying the paint?

Clean the surface thoroughly, remove any rust or loose paint, and ensure it is dry. For metal surfaces with rust, mechanically abrade as far back as possible and use Teamac rust converter before applying the paint for optimal results.

What tools are best for application?

You can use a brush, roller, or spray equipment to apply the paint, depending on the size of the area and the desired finish.

How many coats of paint are recommended?

For best results, apply two coats. This ensures adequate coverage and maximizes the protective qualities of the paint.

How long does the paint take to dry?

Drying times vary based on temperature and humidity. Typically, the paint is touch-dry in 4–6 hours and can be recoated after 24 hours.

What colors are available?

Teamac Farm Oxide Protective Paint is available in a range of colors, including red oxide, black, green, grey, and blue.

Is the paint weather-resistant?

Yes, it is designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, including rain, wind, and sunlight, offering lasting protection and colour retention.

Is Teamac Farm Oxide Paint environmentally friendly?

Teamac strives to reduce the environmental impact of its products, but like most protective coatings, this paint contains solvents. Proper ventilation and safety precautions should be followed during application.

Can this paint be used for indoor projects?

Yes, it can be used indoors but should be applied in well-ventilated areas due to its solvent content. It’s ideal for spaces like barns and sheds that are well-aerated.

What is the coverage area per liter?

A litre of Teamac Farm Oxide Paint covers approximately 13 square meters per coat, though this can vary depending on the surface.

How do I clean brushes and equipment after using this paint?

Use Teamac Thinners 14 for cleaning equipment when done.
